Welcome to The Wellness Wife
Welcome to my blog! I’m Lisa. I have enjoyed reading, writing, and research my entire life. And, I am infamous in my family for offering my opinion to anyone who will listen. I have an opinion on almost everything. When I find a topic for which I don’t have a strong opinion, I find it unsettling! It seemed only natural to become a blogger!
I have spent many years researching my personal passions of health, wellness, and personal finance. I felt like I had so much information swirling around in my head and no outlet for me to share them. Thus, The Wellness Wife was born. It is a hodge-podge of my research and rantings on the topics of physical, financial, environmental, and spiritual wellness. I will share helpful tips, recipes, recycled craft ideas, and so much more.
My husband was a Little Debbie-eating, artificially colored beverage-drinking fiend when I met him. He ran five miles a day and his finances were in order (I wouldn’t have married him if they weren’t!) but his nutrition left something to be desired. Little changes over the years have led to big changes overall. I got him eating healthier and he motivated me to make exercise a more important priority in my life. Now, we wouldn’t have it any other way. We are each other’s accountability partners. If we can do it, you can do it!
Here is my total wellness concept summed up in a paragraph. I believe that if you live a healthy, active lifestyle but your finances are a wreck, you are not truly healthy. If your finances are sound but you aren’t eating properly or exercising, you may not be around long enough to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I think a healthy environment speaks for itself. Someone who has their nutrition, fitness, and finances in order but lives where the air is thick with pollution and eats processed food and conventionally- grown produce will not be fully healthy. Spiritual wellness is a personal journey, no matter what your religion. I find such inner peace through my spirituality. If you are not at peace, you are not well. Stress can do terrible things to your body.
